Post Dubstep? Dance-Drum n/ Bass? Whatever this is, it’s just quite amazing. Production is fantastic, tons of formant twisting, shimmering synths with Launchpad gymnastics to boot. Hope these guys make it big.

After many many years, the Stone Roses have released some new material. Can their jangle-indie win new fans in the era on the soft synth, or will this just be a nostalgia trip for middle aged die-hards? Classic Roses production with a heap of reverb on Ian Brown’s wandering vocals, 90s style vocal harmonies and catchy riff driven guitar parts.

Ever the masters of the sonic palette, Radiohead have released some incredible tracks this year including today’s featured track, Burn the Witch. A really interesting production including semi-spiccato strings, classic Thom Yorke reverb soaked vocals, and lo-fi drums. (Bonus points for the super disturbing Trumpton-esque video!)

Another track from one of our former students, Tom Patrinos, (whose face still adorns the clock in M2) featuring vocals from another former student, Murray Ashdown. Excellent house stylings, catchy hooks and slick production. Great job!

The start of a new feature here on the blog! It’s always nice to know that ex-students are keeping up with their music! This week’s tune comes courtesy of geckojsc (getting a Royksopp vibe off this one!)
