A helpful video from Steinberg and Future Music on the best methods and equipment for recording vocals. Of particular interest is the section on ‘mic technique’, where singers have to change their positioning and performance to achieve the best results. A must watch for AS and A2.

The folks at Future Music have put together a nice little exploration of this common production technique. Use it to highlight particular words or phrases, smooth a transition, or create extreme ghostly effects. Remember though, overuse of techniques like this can ruin a piece, so use sparingly for maximum impact!
